Cartagena shuttle and on our own

We will be in Cartagena with Celebrity this fall from 2:00-8:00 pm. We would like to just walk around the old city on our own. Any advice or suggestions?

 

Does anyone know if Celebrity offers a shuttle from the port to the old city? If not, is it easy to get a taxi from the port to the old city and back to the ship again without having to do a tour?

I just noticed that there is a separate board for Colombia. Some stated that there is a shuttle just from the ship to the end of the pier and not into the old city. Posters have said it is $20 each way for a taxi.

 

I understand the vendors are persistent.

 

But if someone wants to add this discussion, I apprectiate your information.
