mconthehighseas Posted December 16, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 16, 2004 I had gone to one of the dollar stores near my house to find a folding laundry basket to take on our cruise. Didn't find one, but they did have gown and suit protectors (bags to put over your clothes, with a hole on top for a hanger). I bought a gown protector and used it as our laundry bag. It worked great!!!! It hung in our closet, out of the way, and didn't take up any floor space. When it came time to go home, I just put the bag in my garment bag, moved some of the clothes around so the bag would be flatter, and then I didn't have to worry about mixing clean and dirty clothes for the trip home. Note: for 2 people for a seven day cruise, we probably only needed a suit protector, but it never hurts to have extra space.

lougee1043 Posted December 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2004 why not just use the onboard laundy service and take home most of the stuff clean
mconthehighseas Posted December 18, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted December 18, 2004 lougee - there's no reason you couldn't. However, this is the Money saving board, so for people who would rather spend their money elsewhere, this is a way to save on laundry service. I prefer to wash my own underwear, regardless of the cost, hence the laundry bag.
