Stowing luggage in Barcelona

We will dock in Barcelona fairly early on a Saturday morning and fly home that evening. Is there anywhere we can safely leave our luggage for the day so we can do a day tour? An alternate option,...an inexpenside & convenient to dock & airport hotel to spend the night and get an early Sunday morning flight home. Who knows when/if we'll ever get back to barcelona and we'd like to see a little of it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
