mcarroll2 Posted December 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2004 When we stop in Phillipsburg/St. Martin there will be 6 other ships there the same day. Sounds like a lot to me. How many can dock? All those tenders could be chaos! Any thoughts?
kal Posted December 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 17, 2004 Anything more than 4 big ships is over the top. Beyond ZOOOOO!
Ocean Boy Posted December 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 17, 2004 Seven ships on the same day?? Wow, sorry about that. I think only four can dock.

gtaylor Posted December 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2004 Apparently the Cruise Lines, themselves, have a problem with too many ships. The local paper recently reported that on a day with eight ships scheduled to arrive, two of the ships called on nearby St. Kitts, instead. CruznTom Posted December 19, 2004 #9 Share Posted December 19, 2004 Bs Kc - your website is great! have used it and recommended it since I found it about 6 months ago. Is there any way to break down St.Thomas into Havensight (wico) and Crown Bay (sub base)? I'm trying to find out where Horizon docks on Feb 26th and the two sites I know don't go out that far and usvi port doesn't answer E-mail.
BabsandPaul Posted December 19, 2004 #10 Share Posted December 19, 2004 My wife and I are on the Victory Jan 12 ...scheduled for an 11am arrival at SXM...with 10 ships scheduled that day will we then have to tender in?
trvlcarib Posted December 29, 2004 #11 Share Posted December 29, 2004 We are also scheduled to be there on the 12th of Jan with 9 other ships. Good news for us on Summit is we are docked.
Flintstone Posted December 30, 2004 #12 Share Posted December 30, 2004 How does one find out who's docking and who's tendering? Cruisecal doesn't give this info. Thanks Deb

As far as which ship docks where, I don't have that info. My schedules are based on the one's published by the cruiselines. I may be able to get that info sometime in the future. I'll see what I can do. Thanks, Brian
trvlcarib Posted January 2, 2005 #14 Share Posted January 2, 2005 I found out we are docking from Celebrity web sight. I had to plug in my reservation # and then hit cruise calendar. That gave me all the ports, times and whether its docked or anchored. I would think its accurate. They have us anchored at St Lucia.
tispwisp Posted January 3, 2005 #15 Share Posted January 3, 2005 We have 7 other ships docked with us on Wed. Ocean Boy Posted January 3, 2005 #16 Share Posted January 3, 2005 We have 7 other ships docked with us on Wed. May 4 including the Voyager of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, & the Caribbean Princess!!!! With all of those megaships in port it's going to be a ZOO!!!! Zoo probably describes it right. The three ships you mentioned will each be bringing over 3000 guests each. You might almost be better off if your ship ends up tendering. They will bring you right to the dock in the center of Phillipsberg. That way you won't have to compete with all the other passengers for taxi or water shuttle rides from the cruise ship pier into town.
kal Posted January 3, 2005 #17 Share Posted January 3, 2005 We have 7 other ships docked with us on Wed. May 4 including the Voyager of the Seas, Explorer of the Seas, & the Caribbean Princess!!!! You might want to double check that list of ships. On May 4, 2005, the Voyager of the Seas is in Labadee not St. Maarten. Starting mid-to-late April, MANY of the ships reposition out of the Caribbean. The number of ships calling on St. Maarten significantly decrease thereafter. CruznTom Posted January 8, 2005 #19 Share Posted January 8, 2005 I'm also trying to figure out why Celebrity says we will tender in St. Maarten on Feb.27th when the only other ship in port will be RCL's Empress. Any ideas as to why this would happen?
popcorngal Posted January 12, 2005 #20 Share Posted January 12, 2005 Here is the cruise ship schedule for St. Thomas. It breaks it down to which dock will be used. Don't think it goes any further out than the current month though. This site also has a great web cam too. Hope this helps

shelbylook Posted February 4, 2005 #24 Share Posted February 4, 2005 I have no idea how this happened, but the Mariner is the ONLY ship scheduled to be at St. Maarten on March 10th. Gosh, it could be boring. NOT!!! It'll be like having the entire island to ourselves. How fun!
kal Posted February 11, 2005 #25 Share Posted February 11, 2005 Don't forget, there are LOTS of people who vacation at St. Maarten for 1, 2 or 3 week stays. LOTS of people! If there is only one ship in port you will see what it's like the majority of time. It's really nice when there are NO ships in port.
