It's EXACTLY what I was looking for - one of my favorite pre-cruise activities is obsessing over the menu! I am the same!! I love to drool over the menu's :D. Thank you crusinagain for posting these menu's as I am taking my first cruise with rccl in 10 days time.On the 1st day menu "starters"--I am afraid none of those things would appeal to me-would there be another item I could order, soup or a smalll bowl of salad?.Also would you know if cheese is available as an alternative to the desserts. The rest of the menu looks scumptious:D. Thanks in advance. Taffygirl

Ang517 Posted June 24, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Does anyone know if the beaches have been repaired at Curacao? I saw a post that a hurricane had messed them up I think last fall and was just wondering. I really wanted to go to Kontiki Beach and hope it is up and running. Cheese should not be a problem but you may have to give the head waiter a day's notice. Once I surprised my DW with Matzo Ball soup, it was really bad but at least they tried. If its on the ship somewhere you can usually get for dinner.
KKeeganS Posted June 24, 2009 #8 Share Posted June 24, 2009 Thanks for taking the time to do this! I assume the Barbados route will have the same menus. I'm very excited to see the "vitality" offerings.

Kittycatwlv Posted June 25, 2009 #10 Share Posted June 25, 2009 You can request a shrimp cocktail every night if you want but you need to do this the first day so they can have it ready for you.

The selection of cheeses on the plate isn't very diverse. On the first night - the Vidalla Onion Tart is the best appetizer EVER! If you haven't ever tried it, you can order it in addition to your salad. :)
BPWJR Posted June 25, 2009 #12 Share Posted June 25, 2009 Yep, the same menu we had on Freedom last week and I did like. But my wife did notice something after the first few nights and had us wondering if RCCL had bought a broccoli or potato farm. Look at how the first few night can get either broccoli ( and I mean some real 'trees') or some flavored mash potatoes come as a side dish. Happy to have some choices later in the week
counsdr Posted June 25, 2009 #13 Share Posted June 25, 2009 Thanks for taking the time to post the whole menu. Does anyone know how it expands to the 9 night Explorer as we want to plan a night at Portofinos. Thanks
CrusinAgain Posted June 25, 2009 Author #14 Share Posted June 25, 2009 Does anyone know if the beaches have been repaired at Curacao? I saw a post that a hurricane had messed them up I think last fall and was just wondering. I really wanted to go to Kontiki Beach and hope it is up and running. It is up and running and just fine. You can e-mail them and they respond quickly and will e-mail you with brochures and prices on beach massages. Just google Kontiki. More info about it is on the associated site of cruisecritic called tripadvisor.com.
arb711 Posted June 25, 2009 #15 Share Posted June 25, 2009 Also would you know if cheese is available as an alternative to the desserts. /quote] A cheese plate is available every night as an alternative dessert selection - the cheese isn't that bad, but it's served with saltines... It's also available on the room service menu. (Free except for midnight to I think 3 am?) I recently read a tip on one of these boards to bring your own box of crackers - I'm adding it to my list! arb711 Posted June 26, 2009 #17 Share Posted June 26, 2009 Oops, sorry taffygirl, I noticed in another post that you're from the UK! I don't know your crackers well enough to know what a comparable one is. Saltines are very basic, bland, kind of crumbly - it's what people suggest pregnant women eat to combat morning sickness. I actually love them, but not for a good piece of cheese. A nice box of Carr's water crackers - now you're talking!
