How do the pool lifts work?

I totally examined the pool lift but did not request to use it. I'm not the most mechanical person, but can someone explain how they work? Is it something I can do independantly or must a crew member be present? (I'll be on the Golden in two weeks.)

I have not been on the Golden so do not know if it has one. Generally, these are controlled by staff (or someone else). You sit on the chair and it swings down to the water. You get off in the water and swim to the side. It works off of the water so you might get sprayed a little with cold water going down. Do the reverse coming back up. There should be a strap on the chair so that you do not fall off. warning if kids see you do it they will try to use it, hopefully, staff are near by to keep the kids away.
