Most replies that I have seen to that question is - it can be either. The cruise ship may have maintenance issues that dictate what side is in, the crew may need training on life boats or life boats needing testing, the weather could influence which side.......

It's a 50/50 shot. Both the Dawn and the Spirit switch sides from week to week depending on maintenance (life boat and ship itself). I've read where the ship even switches sides during her stay. By the way, both views are very, very nice.
