Ken076 Posted June 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2009 We're doing Princess's Turnagain Arm Transfer/Excursion from Whittier to Anchorage, in early September. The drop-off is apparently at the Egan Welcome Center? Is that at/near the Natural Science Museum? What's at/near the Welcome Center? Is there secure Baggage storage there? Does the Transfer itself optionally drop-off at the Airport -or- is there a separate shuttle to the airport? Can you drop-off luggage at the airport in the misd-afternoon for a late-nite flight and then leave and check-in later? thanks, Ken

We have the Alaska Museum of Natural History http://www.alaskamuseum.org/index.html or the Anchorage Museum http://www.anchoragemuseum.org/ The Egan Center isn't near the first one but an easy walk to the second. The Egan Center is basically right downtown so easy walk to shopping and all kinds of restaurants. The Visitor's Information Cabin is basically right behind there and the Alaska Native Heritage Center http://www.alaskanative.net/ has a free shuttle that picks up at various places downtown. In regards to luggage at the airport most airlines' rule is they won't accept luggage until 4 hours before your flight. There is just no way that they could store or keep track of all that luggage for hours on end. Susan in Anchorage :)
Budget Queen Posted June 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 30, 2009 There is a pay baggage storage option at Anchorage airport, and as already stated domestic flights usually have a 4 hour window for bagage acceptance. The cruiseline, may offer a baggage transfer option, of which you would be paying them an added fee for a direct transfer to the airport. The Egan Center also closes at 6pm. All stored bags would have to be claimed by that time. And you need to verify the transfer options between downtown and the airport, directly.
