Celebrity upgrades?

Does anyone have experience with upgrading your cabin at check in? How does it work?

If you are one of the first on board you might be put on a list for available cabins. Frequently you will find that the ships are sailing full and cabin changes will be all but impossible. Each ships always tries to keep a few cabins available for potential mishaps and cabin changes.

If however there are many cabins available (check several days before leaving) you can ask at the pier where you will probably be told to go see guest relations on board and if there are no-shows you might be able to purchase an upgrade. Good luck.

As soon as you board the ship, go directley to guest relations desk & ask if you can get an upgrade. We did this & they told us that as soon as the ship sails, & they have the final manifest, they will notify you what is available & how much you must pay. On our last sailing, a 14 night TA, we upgraded from an outside to CC w/balcony for $300 total.

A lot depends on the time of year, itinerary etc.

What we have experienced is calls from our agent two or three weeks before the cruise offering us different kinds of upgrades at different costs. We have never taken them up on any.

If you booked thru an agent call them (or call X direct) and see if they can get you one ahead of time. It will cost something. Haven't heard of FREE upgrades in a long time.
