Drive to Haleakala summit

Can someone tell me how long the drive is from Kahului to the Haleakala summit?

According to the NPS website it's a 2 hour drive. You can check it out at http://www.nps.gov/hale

Sounds about right. You'll probably get there earlier than 2 hours but not by much. If you're doing the drive in the dark, it'll probably be slower.

Spleen's right. Also take into consideration the weather. If it's raining it can take longer. Sometimes it can be raining on the lower sections of the road, while clear at the top. Well worth the drive though, no matter how long it takes.

2 hours sounds right to me too. We did this when we were on the Star. Spent the better part of the day on this trip. We did stop several times and hiked around on the way up. Worth the drive for sure.
