Does anyone know if I can arrange a Tour for the Rainforest thru the Embassy Suites Hotel & Casino? I looked on their website & they have links to attractions...but not sure if I can make arrangements thru them.. We will be staying 2 nights pre-cruise & I wanted to spend Sat. morning at the Rainforest...I'm not comfortable renting a car & driving myself...

Once while staying there, we inquired about tours and were given a written list of people to call about tours. Most of the drivers would take us any where we wanted to go. There were also group tours available. Just ask when you get there. However, you may be able to email the hotel. ????

We stayed at the EMBASSY and loved it!! So many tour operators to choose from. However, we used Hector Westerband. He picked us up and was awesome. The biggest bang for our buck.

He specks impeccable english and spanish.

We spent 3 days precruise. We went to Ponce (coffee plantation, sevillas castle, ate lichon), El Yunque, Lucquillo beach, isla verde, toured old san juan, went to viequiex (bio bay tour), bacardi distillery, el morro, san juan government. He picked us up and dropped us off. He showed us where to eat he called them the 3 b's bueno, barito, bien limpio ( clean, good and affordable).

Best thing is that hector picked us from the airport took us to the hotel. Sunday morning he picked us from the hotel. Kept our luggage while we did a old san juan tour and bacardi on sunday. He dropped us off at the port for carnival. Then the following sunday on our return. He picked us up took us shopping in old san juan for a wee bit and then took us to the airport. HE WAS AWESOME!!!

We saw so much in so little time. Our wallets didn't take a big hit either.

reach him at hectorwesterband@yahoo.com.

Our group age range was from 34-70 and he took care of us all.

I hope this helps.

alamo, thanks for the info on Hector...I emailed him & he said he couldn't give me a quote now cause my cruise isn't until next year....I can understand that..but could you give me an idea of how much your tour & shuttle service was? How many were in your group? There are 3 of us..but I am the only one who is doing the rainforest..

Did you eat in any of the hotel restraunts? They have menu's posted online & the prices did not look that bad considering it's a hotel...just wondering how old the menus are & if they have gone up a lot since the website...

Soo sorry for the late reply. I do know from cruising that most tour operators review their rates and make adjustments for the new years.

The menu for the hotel--embassy suites?

It was a buffet for breakfast.

It was better than a cold continental.

Omelets made to order, fresh bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, bagels, muffins, certain day pancakes and other days waffles, fruit, coffee, juice, milk, etc.

We always went out for dinner.

For those having questions since I don't daily check the boards email me.

Please place in the subject line --Puerto Rico info request.

There were 10 in my group when we went to Puerto Rico.

Let's just say I also got quotes from countryside tours "frank".

They were responsive to my emails, too. Friendly folks too.

Hector's pricing was waaaaay more affordable.

We also like the fact that we could utilize PayPal for payment. Ya know the PAYPAL guarantee, too.

Soo sorry that email isn't working .

Send inquiries to macias4a at gmail . com

I hope you enjoy PR. I know we did!

Looks like we maybe headed back next year.

This year it's london, paris and an msc baltic cruise then in the summer headed on a carnival cruise to belize, isla roatan and cozumel.
