Greek Ports - what can we do on our own?

Hi! New to posting. But loving the opportunity. We are cruising the Greek Islands in September. We have Santorini figured out.:) But Athens is a problem as is Corfu. We've seen the "must see" things in Athens. We would like to know if there is a fabulous resort hotel near the beach for a day of relaxation. Or could you recommend a 5 star hotel in the city to enjoy some Greek food.

Thanks, Italy Traveler.

We rented a car in Corfu, they brought it to the Port and we drove to the other side of the Island to a lovely beach and resort area, had a Banana Boad ride and also took a boat tour to the caves in the area.

The water is crystal clear.

Yea we also took a cruise around Corfu and stopped off to do some water sports.

Could you give me more information about the boat tour around the Island of Corfu? How long? Cost? Where to find it from the ship? Thanks a million

There is a very pleasant part of Piraeus which you may want to visit. If you cut through the streets past the Archelogical Museum it will bring you down to the old harbour where there are some pleasant walks through the Marina (luxury yachts) and with a selection of harbour side restaurants and cafes. This part is not to be confused with the Cruise Port but is altogether more attractive. There are some pleasant shops too. I can't remember exact streets as we did this a while ago but we passed a very pleasant afternoon in a quiet and attractive part of Piraeus as like yourselves we wanted something different from the usual sights in Athens.
