judyf Posted May 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2004 I'm on the Vopyager 5/21 going to Ocho Rois, Freeport and Grand Cayman. Labadee still unsure Nassau or Coca Cay. In Ocho Rois I booked Peat Taylor's Dunns Falls tour. Freeport I'm confused casue on the port board can't tell between Nassau or Freeport on most posts. What have you done or would suggest to do in Freeport? Grand Cayman we did the Stringray tour last month so looking for something different this time. Can you just get a guide when you get off ship? If so does any one suggest one or have an e mail address to book in advance? I'm thinking maybe turtle farm. hell, maybe some of the sites and then a beach. Which beach? Any suggestions? It looks like we might go to Coca Cay from a post I read today. Any tips? What is there to do? I think I read lunch is provided free. Thanks for any tips or suggestions. superjerryw Posted May 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2004 Seven mile beach in Grand Cayman is the most popular. A taxi from the pier is $4 per person. Any taxi can let you off at any of the beach clubs that accept day guests. dolphincruiser404 Posted May 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2004 I was not thrilled with 7 Mile Beach. Don't get me wrong, it was gorgeous as any beach in the caribbean, but it was very rocky and the water was not as nice. It seemed very dirty(sand, seaweed, etc.) I did not notice this in any of our other ports. On our next trip to Grand Caymen I will look for a different beach! endi302 Posted May 9, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 9, 2004 Grand cayman is very easy to get around, one major road. I suggest a car rental. We booked a car for $50 thru Avis. This way you can go to the turtle farm, "hell", and visit any beaches. We like cemetary beach to snorkel, its a public beach and you walk beside a cemetary to get there. We take cheez whiz in a squirt can and the fish love it. Last time we were finished and were swimming in to shore and a very large grey fish would not take no for an answer and wanted more cheese. I thought it was a shark and needless to say started panicking. My husband took the can and the fish then went away. It made for a good story anyway. Hope this helps. judyf Posted May 9, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted May 9, 2004 Thanks for the info. I thought about renting a car. Just didn't want the worry or stress of driving while on vacation if I didn't have too. I will check out the sites posted. Thanks for the info.
