Montreal - Iberville terminal

Recommended Posts

We are doing a New England cruise and are driving to Montreal as we are leaving from the Iberville terminal . Will it be enough to tell the driver from where we drop off the car that we need to go to shed5 or will we need to know more, like which end or something?

It's called the Iberville Passenger Terminal and the driver probably knows if you telling him to take you to the cruise terminal, but likely won't know the name Iberville Passenger Terminal. But most don't really know the Iberville name. Locally it's known as Quai Alexandra or Jetée Alexandra or the Alexandra Pier, but he may not even know that name, since it's the smaller of the two piers. But if he doesn't know just tell him to take you to the Vieux Port (the old Port, pronounced "vhew pour") and it's the quai in front of Pointe au Calliere (poyn-auh-kalli-ehr).

Here is a link to the location... http://maps.google.ca/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Prom+du+vieux+port+%26+Rue+De+Calli%C3%A8re,+Montreal,+QC&sll=45.502444,-73.552866&sspn=0.003579,0.007639&ie=UTF8&ll=45.502798,-73.553081&spn=0.007535,0.015278&z=16&iwloc=A

You will see the ship looming over the pier as you approach it, so there will be no mistaking the right one. Once your cab driver gets to the head of the pier, he'll be stopped by a security guard and passengers will need to show tickets. The guard will tell the driver precisely where the cab needs to go; it involves turning and going up on a ramp. There will be porters to take your bags, and you can walk right in to the registration desks (or more precisely, the line to reach the registration desks).
