bellagirl Posted July 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2009 Hi-We did our tour post-cruise from Celebrity,so I guess that's not going to help you any! If you do get a chance to go,please do--you will not regret it. It is absolutely stunning and a place that you will not soon forget. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful...I'm sure someone else will chime in. Shelly:)

jlijny Posted July 12, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 12, 2009 We are going to Barcelona next week for a few days pre-cruise. On the day of embarkment, we have scheduled Jose from Pepito Tours to pick us us at our hotel (9:00am)...put our luggage in the van....and he and his driver will take us on a 5 hr tour of Montserrat. When the tour is over, he will drive us directly to the port. We will probably board at approx. 2:30pm. If you do a search on this board, you will find that he comes hightly recommended. NikkiOh Posted July 13, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2009 I agree! Very easy to do by train (may require the metro to train). And a lot cheaper!

We did this in May, we used Pepito Tours for about 5 & 1/2 hours on the day we embarked. Magada was our guide and she was extremely knowledgeable and so much fun. Be sure to ask your guide a lot of questions about how Catalonia differs from the rest of Spain. First we stopped for a tour of Gaudi's Park Guell--many people go on their own but it really helped having a guide there. Then we went to Monserrat which is an amazing complex. After hearing the boys' choir sing, we drove back to the dock in Barcelona where we arrived about 2:30; all the lines were gone and we checked in and boarded the ship right away. MightyQuinn Posted July 13, 2009 #8 Share Posted July 13, 2009 We did this in May, we used Pepito Tours for about 5 & 1/2 hours on the day we embarked. This is very appealing to us so I checked Pepito Tours website for details. It was great until I got to the price. Yikes! He charges 495 Euros for a 5-hr tour to Montserrat. Perhaps this would be OK for a larger group (up to 6 pax) but for just a couple, we'd rather take the train & save the Euros.
dorijo Posted July 13, 2009 #9 Share Posted July 13, 2009 Hi We are using Aurelio, we have him booked to pick us up at the airport on arrival and take us to our hotel for 45e then when we disembark he will be there to take us to montserrat for 45e per hour for a tour then take us to our airport hotel for our overnight before flying home. We will take a taxi from our La Ramblas hotel to the pier on embarkation day as i think it is cheaper to let the hotel call a taxi. We are only 2 people and going in Nov. Montserrat is very easy to do on your own and is much cheaper than using a tour (not to mention, it gives you more flexibility on timing and activities of interest).
