If you mean to connect to the LAN to then connect to the Internet, sure. An 802.11 device is an 802.11 device as far as the network is concerned. Be aware that if you use the cellular data service the rate is different from the normal service.

Len, I'm not a Blackberry user, but the answer would depend on what you can control about how it gets signals. If you can tell it not to look for a cell phone tower and to only use WiFi, and you can use a regular web browser to log in, then you can use it anywhere on the ship. If it's going to pull its signal via cell tower, then be prepared for very, very high rates.

Check out response #32 to the question "What is the cheapest way to make phone calls?" on the "Ask a cruise question" board and be VERY careful with how you use a blackberry. I know of similar cases.
