Bars/Pubs around Port?

Although we will probably end up down by the west end, are there any recommendations on a place to stop and have a few drinks at that is near the port? I have read that the area is kinda nasty but if anyone has any suggestions that would be very much appreciated!

Not sure what you consider Nasty? Is it poor people that cannot pay gringo prices in West End and West Bay and have a little place to make a living? Is Nasty someplace where the majority of the island people actually shop? If that is you definition then run fast to West End or West Bay as that is where its been made to feel like home for Americans , West Bay the most. Of course that 20 lemp beer in Coxen hole wil probably be triple in West Bay Some of the local places around the ship is great , especially for the price. Just East of the Municipal is a great place for a snack, and just before the little bridge towards gravel bay is a two story bar with good prices but if you think you will visit with other gringos then you wont, but when you get back on the ship you will know you visited roatan and not some kind of made up world to get more money from tourists. It like so many go to the Disney owned Island in Bahamas and actually think they been to Bahamas.

There's a little tiki hut at the ship end of the pier that serves beer and drinks. Not sure if they have food there. Otherwise, there's no Margaritaville-Senor Frogs-Carlos n Charlies-Breezes-Wet Lizard type of place on the island. And that's a good thing, IMHO. Take a taxi over to the West End and have a nice lunch at Mavis and Dixies on the beach.:)
