ideal embarkation time

A question for recent cruisers on the Gem from Barcelona! We're taking the Gem this coming Sunday from Barcelona and we were wondering what would be the best time to arrive at the port so as to avoid crowds.

What about the latest time? I am normally a late arriver to avoid as many of the crowds as possible, but never sailed from Europe before. Some folks may be trying to get a bit of last minute sight seeing.
