Just took a land based vacation out east. We received a reminder from AAA just before we left to "show our card and save" with AAA discounts and not just the usual 10% the hotel chains give you. So I asked a number of places (none of which had a sign indicating that they offered any AAA discounts) and sure enough... in 3 museums we got 2 for 1 admissions.. got 10% discounts in 3 restaurants.. so clearly worth asking.

They didn't give us a break at our hotel but I did get an internet better price.

I have used AARP and well as AAA...Have saved as much as $50.00 per room night at the Caribe Hilton in San Juan!!! Thanks for reminding me to use it ask about discounts!!
