What are the options in Vancouver for getting off one ship at Canada Place and getting on another at Ballantyne all in the same morning? Should we be prepared to have Canadian funds or will credit cards be an option?

You will need a taxi - most taxis will accept your $US dollars at face value - the exchange rate right now is only about 10% so that will cover a tip. - They also accept credit cards and of course if you just happen to have some CDN $$$ they will also accept them.

That cab ride would cost about C$7.45. That is roughly C$9 with a 15% tip. It is about 2.6 km.

I've got a follow-up question on this same topic.

 

When we arrived back on the NCL Sun a few years ago to Canada Place, the line for taxis was horrible! When we arrived, there were 3 ships in ports, and we're going to be facing that same scenario again this time.

 

We'll be arriving on the Golden Princess at Canada Place and need to get to Ballantyne for a cruise on the NCL Star. Are there any options, other than cabs?

 

We'll have 4 of us traveling together, and several couples on our roll-call are doing the same thing. Is there any sort of shuttle/limousine/van service that we could reserve so we're not waiting in a long taxi line? Even if it was more expensive than cabs, if we could split the cost between 3 or 4 couples, it might not end up being too much more and seems like it might be better than waiting in line for 1 1/2 hours, which is what the wait was last time.

I will probably get blasted for telling you the secret to avoiding the taxi line up at Canada Place but here it is

 

When you exit the customs area with your bags at Canada Place - rip off the cruise ship baggage tags. then go to the right of the taxi line up and you will find an elevator up to the Pan Pacific Hotel. (Just ask directions to the elevator to the Pan Pacific Hotel as if you are planning to stay there) Take the elevator up one level to the hotel entrance and get the doorman to hail a cab for you. You will be on your way in minutes.
