Colo Cruiser Posted July 31, 2009 #76 Share Posted July 31, 2009 We have had an extra day or two the last couple of times from FLL, so we have stayed at the Marriott Harbor Beach. But, I think next time, we'll go back to the Renaissance so that we can walk. We both loooooove to walk, and I would like to get a nice walk in before boarding. We have never really had a day in FLL that it wasn't pleasant for walking. I have heard people say they do this, but we've never tried -- we're going to join you on the sidewalk next time! Definitely not worthing doing it to save $10, but worth doing it because it's pleasant to do! Love the MHB resort! We don't walk to save money. Its just easier, and not that big a deal at all. :D We are there again for a couple of nights next year for the Ruby. We are always walking the promanade several times a day, what a back drop! Hulagirl Posted July 31, 2009 #78 Share Posted July 31, 2009 Just wanted to add about the Embassy Suites shuttle. They do charge $7 per person now to take you on their shuttle to the pier. When we have stayed there in the past, we had never been charged, but this is a definite thing now. Also, they don't pick up at the airport and if you stay at the hotel they won't take you back to the airport anymore. We have liked the hotel in the past, but this last December we just didn't think they were quite what they had been before as far as cleanliness, so trying something else for this December. Leafpeeper Posted July 31, 2009 #79 Share Posted July 31, 2009 We are staying at Motel 6 Dania Beach because it is a GREAT location near the airport, cruise terminal, and Dania Beach. The motel is adjacent to a state park and a lovely 1 mile walk to Dania Beach--or a short bus ride. Dania JaiLai is a block away and a shopping center is across the street. We will be staying at Motel 6 for 2 nights because we arrive at 11pm. WE wanted a place close to the airport. We will take a cab to the Marriott Beachplace Towers in Ft Lauderdale 36 hours after we arrive to spend a week.
