If you are interested in taking the VIA train (example - from Quebec to Montreal), please check this out. I tried to check the time schedule but the website is busy right now.

Children between the ages of 2-11 (inclusive) pay half of the discounted adult fare.

Valid for travel between July 26 and December 14, 2009 (inclusive).

Due to POPULAR demand, the 60% off sale has been extended to Friday, July 31.

It is almost impossible to get through VIA Rail's phone lines. We called many times and couldn't get through.

The website is soooo slow. The best time to do your booking is very late at night or very early in the morning.

2nd day of sale (July 28) -

- My daughter was too impatient this morning with the slow website so she went to the train station in Toronto to get her tickets. The line was sooo long, it took her over an hour before she got her tickets.

- I booked our tickets at 06:00 PST and the whole process took close to 1 hour (very slow). I booked my nephew's ticket at 23:00 PST and it took 20 minutes.
