4 day SKY cruise - Nassau question

We are sailing on NCL Sky 4 day Bahama cruise on 9/14/09 and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the Sandels resort in Nassau offers day visits or tours of some kind. Would love to do the Atlantis tour but a little to expensive. Would have booked with priceline but afraid if the ship doesn't make that stop we would be out our $$$$. We thought a tour of the Sandels resort would be a good idea for a future vacation.

You can book a room at the Comfort Inn next door to Atlantis. They will give you 4 passes to all amenities inside Atlantis.

When we booked the room, it ended up costing approximately $75 per person.....WAY better than the $160 the cruiseline was charging.

We made reservations at the Comfort Inn for 4 and when we checked in they gave us a voucher to present to Atlantis for 4 wristbands. We walked through a path connecting to Atlantis and received our bands. They were the same as those staying at Atlantis and entitled us to ALL amenities except the room at Atlantis. The total price was $185.00. We never saw the room since we checked in and out at the same time. Had a wonderful day at Atlantis.

In the Ports of Call Forum for Bahamas there are a ton of messages about the various places to go. I was surprised to see that Sandals and Beaches are something like $100 pp/pd or $50 pp/pd that didn't include your drinks and various things to do. We drove by both of those resorts when we took a moped around the island and they are not in a great area. Atlantis is much nicer.

We had done the tour of The Dig at Atlantis on a previous cruise and didn't care to spend the $$ to sit at the waterpark so we rented a scooter and just drove around for a few hours. It was pretty neat to see all of the island, but, going over the bridge to Paradise Island was a bit nail bighting. That's a HUGE bridge on a tiny little scooter. We were hoping we'd make it over and back.

Have fun! The Sky is a great ship.

If you book ahead - what if the ship doesn't make the port????? or do you make reservation ahead and pay when you arrive?
