Which Port for Whale Watching?

OK, we want to see the whales up close and personal in January. Which port and land tour operator do you recommend? We prefer not to go with the ship's excursions, and will be visiting PV, Maz, Cabo, ACA, Ixt/Zui. Thank you!

If you read these boards much, you will know that I had great luck in Cabo, with the ships vendor, for 2.5-3hr tour, with lots of whales and open bar. There are lots of private boats you can book at the dock. Should be in $30-45 range for same time. Just be sure they know specifically that you want the whalewatching.

I agree with Ine. We went with open air expeditions in Puerto Vallarta - we had a spectacular day with them - Christmas day.

Cruz
