NY area airports not the best place to fly

For the record, we had absolutely no problem flying into EWR last year. Easy to get around, luggage came quickly, friendly taxi dispatcher. No probs.

The article is talking about flight delays. The NY area airports have flights scheduled so tightly that any weather delay, even one that just requires more spacing between take offs and landings, results in delays of an hour or more.

The actual airports are OK.

We live in Manhattan and for International flights Newark (EWR) is our preferred airport. It is clean, the people are friendly, and it is easy to find gates...

That said, our experience is with starting our trip or ending our trip at Newark. I've heard many say that arriving at Newark for a change of plane is often a nightmare because of delays.
