littlesnit Posted August 3, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Seriously, I'm looking at a sailing for April 15, 2010, and rather not cruise during spring break. I see that Easter is April 4. Will most colleges be back in session by the 15th? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Will most colleges be back in session by the 15th? Your help is greatly appreciated. Spring break falls at different times throughout the U.S. March and April are considered spring break months. Many spring breaks for different schools (not all colleges) do not coincide with the actual date of Easter.
skankycat Posted August 3, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Universities usually run mid March to mid April, but there's no standard dates. If you're dealing with a TA, ask them how best to avoid spring breakers. btw, that's me. My husband is a professor and I love his spring break! Cruzman Posted August 3, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2009 As mentioned, spring break varies from state to state and even by county within a state. By mid April, all college spring breaks are over pretty much over, but there will remain some public school spring breakers at that time, although not too many. kasil Posted August 3, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 3, 2009 Most of the public schools around me have Spring Break the first week of April. If you want to avoid kids younger than college age, you might be better off looking at a later week.
kitty9 Posted August 3, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 3, 2009 You should be just fine for an April 15th sailing. Schools, both college and lower, will be finished with Easter/Spring breaks by that date. All schools will be back the week after Easter Sunday, which will be April 12th.
