Eclipse:C1 vs AquaClass vs S2

I am a first time cruiser planning on booking a 7 day itinerary to the Caribbean on the Eclipse.

 

I have a couple of questions. Are the benefits of a S2 cabin enough to justify the cost? Or should I look at dropping down to an AquaClass or C1?

 

Also, the travel agent I am working with said that the S2 cabins on the back of the ship are awesome. I thought I had heard that they are having problems with soot on the balconies. Has anyone heard about this?
