Corsica private full day tour

Looking for information regarding booking an English speaking guide/driver for a walking tour of the Port Vecchio plus a driving tour to the Bonifacio Citadel, Filitosa megaliths, the granite cliffs of Les Calanques de Piana and a walking tour of the town of Sartene. We are two couples on the Windsurf Oct. 4 cruise from Rome to Barcelona. I can be contacted directly at srosenz@comcast.net

This was never answered so I'm hoping someone will have an answer now. I'm also interested in this itinerary. Srosenz, what did you end up doing? Ship tour?

For Porto Vecchio you do not need realy a guide. You can do all by walking in the old town center, and some hints of the tourist office will be sufficient.

 

However combining Sartene and Bonifaccio and Porto Vecchia in one day will be hectic!!! Road between Pt Vecchio and Bonifacio is straight and only 26 km (approx 16 miles). Bonifacio is really worthwhile and you can spend a lot of time. In fact the best is a boat trip, but you will not have the time for this.

Sartene is nice but the road is turning a lot and takes time to drive. If choosing between Sartene and Bonifacio, definitely the last is impressive with the white cliffs!

Thank you for your reply, Jpver. I'm more interested in Les Calanques de Piana and Spelunca Gorges. Are these worth going to, or should I just stay in town? Are there private tour operators that provide day trips to these sites? I haven't seen much mention of them on here. Thank you.

Both are close to Porto and are worthwhile visiting.

The Calanques de Piano can be visited by car, but they are much more beautiful and impressive by boat tour you can make out of Porto.

In this case I would really recommend to combine the Réserve Naturelle de Scandola and the Calenques. The natural reserve can only be visited by sea if you are tourist. Scandola will take a bit more as half a day and combined with the calenque it is approx 3/4 day. (Advance reservation is suggested. We didn't and had to change our schedule)

Unfortunately I canot help you with guided tours. We visited Corsica with our car during 2 weeks. Driving from Belgium and the ferry to Corsica.

For you the problem will be the time that your cruise vessel is in port, because you have first the transfer from and to Ajaccio... and the time for the visits.
