Le Havre on a Sunday?

We will be in Le Havre on a Sunday next September from 7 am until 9 pm. What transportation, such as a bus to Honfleur, is available on Sunday? We have never traveled in Europe before and know NOTHING about getting around. But from what I understand, a lot of things are closed on Sunday.

Thanks!

We were in LeHavre on a Sunday two years ago and took the bus to Honfleur. The bus station was not staffed on Sunday - we bought our tickets on the bus. There was reduced service on a but we had plenty of time to spend in Honfleur and get a return bus. We don't speak fluent French but were able to figure out the bus schedule with no problem.

One tip - do not buy a ship transfer into town. The bus station is nowhere near there. As soon as you get off the ship, grab a taxi to the bus station. If you catch an earlier bus, you'll have that much more time in Honfleur - which is a charming town.

Perhaps someone can provide you with a link to the bus schedule so you can find out the actual times before you get there. At the bus station, we found that there were probably about 10 or 12 people from our cruise who also opted to take the same bus so we had a real comfort zone in doing it.

I just downloaded all the relevant bus timetables for this year. There are 3 routes (the 20, 39 express, and 50) running back and forth on a limited Sunday/Holiday schedule.

On a Sunday, the first bus from Le Havre to Honfleur is the number 39 at 1045. This is the only bus on Sunday morning, the next one is at 1433.

Then late afternoon/evening buses coming back to Le Havre at 1723 (number 50, arriving LH at 1752), at 1806 (number 39, arriving LH at 1831), and at 1906 (number 20, arriving LH at 1936).

Thanks so much for this info. Is there a website where I can get this information next year closer to our sailing date?

http://www.busverts.fr/_hiver/horaires.asp?communes=LE%20HAVRE&communesd=HONFLEUR

After you get to this page, find the route you want from the list and click on "télécharger" to get a .pdf file showing the timetable.
