Victoria: Big Bus vs. Gray Line

Recommended Posts

How do Big Bus and Gray Line compare?

The Big Bus Sightseeing has detailed information about their routes and timetables on their website. They seem to run every 20 minutes or so.

But the Gray Line has very little detail on their website.

Celebrity Cruises offers "Victoria Hop-On/Hop-Off" as an optional excursion, with transportation to/from the ship. They don't say it is Gray Line, but a picture on Celebrity website shows that it is.

Would it be easy to get from the ship's pier to either one of these tour bus stops?

We have done these type of sightseeing buses before, and enjoyed them. It is a good combination of narrated city tour, and many places where we get off and explore on our own and get back on for the next area. We usually take an entire day to do the sightseeing loop that they go on.

In my mind they are pretty much the same. I am not sure if you can purchase tickets en-route but if you can, with either HOHO you would only need to walk a few minutes to Fishermans Wharf to catch the bus. Failing that it is about a twenty min walk to their ticket boths or you could take CVS Victoria's shuttle in for $6 pp.
