British Airways flight BA0218 help

(I never understand this obssession with being at the gate hours before the flight.)

Why, it's so you won't miss the announcement that your gate has been changed.:D

The only reason I arrive at a gate early is if I am trying for a DBC and want to be the first in line to volunteer. Otherwise, I try to time it so that I stride up to the boarding pass scanner just as they are announcing first/elite boarding. (Mrs. FT prefers slightly sooner, so she doesn't risk get caught in a queue inside the jetway).

And, of course, the difference between first class boarding in Europe/Asia and the USA -- "over there" the F cabin boards last, not first. More time in the lounge and less sitting around in the aircraft.

Although decent airlines will let you board whenever if you have the shiny boarding passes ;)
