Question for recent travelers on the Carnival Freedom to Costa Rica

My question is this: were the hours in port enough to do a tour with an independant tour operator? I'm looking into okeydokey tours and Oscar Brown.

Right now I'm leaning more toward Oscar Brown because we can "customize" what we do. I'm interested in ziplining mostly and some of the other highlights Oscar offers such as the banana plantation, beach stop, cocoa farm, and the city tour.

However, most of his tours (along with Charlie Soto's of okeydokey) estimate 6 hours. Is that too long of a tour? I'm worried we wouldn't make it back to the ship in time. Can anyone shed some light on this? I've read some of the recent reviews of this intinerary and everyone seemed to make it just fine but I'm not sure how!

Please lend some advice...we're leaving in 17 days!! Yikes!

Thanks in advance!
