osiebosie Posted August 13, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 13, 2009 I thought they couldn't. Mine gets as hot as an iron, and I thought I'd read somewhere where you couldn't bring steamers. Hmmm... Shay
mzloolue Posted August 13, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 13, 2009 Blow dryers and curling irons get hot too and they are allowed. Why not steamers? My theory is that irons are not allowed because there are no ironing boards in the cabins and people would iron on the bed. A hot iron left in bedding is a bad thing. Rare crewsweeper Posted August 13, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2009 Just bring your clothes to the steam room for 5 minutes. Wrinkles will be gone. You'll have less to schlep around.

Does it work on all types of material? I have some that are those chiffon type dresses and was just wondering about using it on them. I've mostly used it on casual clothing, and DH uses it on button down shirts.
*Mach* Posted August 13, 2009 #12 Share Posted August 13, 2009 Clothes steamers are allowed. The heating element is enclosed and can not make contact with flammable items. That's not the case with irons. :)
