Cartegena tour info??

I've not taken it on Princess but several times on Holland America, and I suspect they use the same tour company which is generally the case. Definitely take a tour in Cartagena!! The old city area is marvelous, and generally a walking tour is included in this area. Even the "not much shopping" includes a stop at the old dungeons for tourist stuff. Often they take you to their preferred emerald store . . . like everyone on board is going to buy tons of emeralds. The trip to the fortress involves hiking up the hill, generally in the hot sun . . . so I'd take along an umbrella for the sun . . . but is intersting. It's a great port so do something!

Loved Cartagena. It is so beautiful. We just got a taxi at the dock with an English speaking driver who gave us our own tour. It was sufficient for us and gave us more time for shopping, less for standing around and waiting. It depends on what you want. Definitely plan to wear a sun hat.
