No need for pesos for only 2 ports. Both will quote you prices in both dollars and pesos.

we never take pesos; they still love the US$:) but we do take a lot of singles

Take lots of $1.00 bills. Everyone is hoping for a tip. We had $50 in ones, and used them all.

If you exhange your dollars for pasos, you will end up with all those extra pasos. Use dollars, it's so much easier. The exchange rate is worst at 10 to a dollar instead of 13 to a dollar, but if you are not really spending that much, then why bother?

Exchange your large USA bills into mostly $1's and $5's at the guest services desk. Barter in USA bills, expect no change, and move on. Alternatives can be very time consuming in port.
