CozSally Posted December 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2004 Hello from beautiful Cozumel! I have an NCL Sun passenger coming for an appointment. I need to know if the Sun stays on Miami time or has their passengers change to the port time. Many thanks!
mbisson Posted December 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2004 I was on the Sun a couple weeks ago. We were on Port time. We hope to visit Cozumel again soon. It's beautiful (and maybe the road repairs along the pier area will be complete). ;) -Monte

JMCOUTDOORS Posted December 30, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 30, 2004 In All The Ships We Have Been On It Is Always Been The Ship Time Which Is The Port Of Origin Not The Port You Are Docked In
98Charlie Posted December 30, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 30, 2004 It is my understanding that it is up to the staff (Captain and/or Cruise Director) that makes the decision regarding time. We have been on cruises within the last two years that have stayed on ship time, changed to port time every time (4 changes in a 7 day cruise  ) and on a recent RCCL LOS out of San Diego we had a time change that put us on port time for the first two stops, then were told to stay on ship time for the third port, followed by the time change back to PST on the way back. Sally - if your passengers are coming in soon it will probably be the same as mbisson's experience. Charlie
mbisson Posted December 30, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 30, 2004 We had to change our watches 4 times on this cruise. Sorry if that isn't the experience of others but I can only relate what happened to us. -Monte
richtersl Posted December 30, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 30, 2004 It looks like it may vary from cruise line to cruise line. Every NCL ship I've been on has used port time. Questions of this nature have been asked on several of the forums here. Some don't change their clocks. And this is a good thing to know. As mbisson pointed out, the Sun absolutely, positively stays on port time. :D On the Sun reminders about this will be announced over the PA and you will also see them printed in your Freestyle Daily. mbisson Posted December 30, 2004 #8 Share Posted December 30, 2004 Thanks Linda, I was starting to think I had experienced 4 senior moments. BTW-We had a great time on the Sun. -Monte
Zeno Posted December 30, 2004 #9 Share Posted December 30, 2004 Another post to backup Monte re: Sun and time changes. The Sun definitely follows port time. Freestyle Daily will remind you how to set your clocks and watches.
