Snorkeling from shore (Actief)

We are looking at doing a snorkeling tour with Actief. Our group has snorkeled several times before but always on boats, never from shore. What I'm wondering is how far from shore do you have to swim to get to the snorkel sites they take you? If you can swim out to the snorkel sites in a few minutes, we'd be fine with that but if you have to swim for 10-15 minutes just to get there, it might be pretty tiring and we may look at a boat tour instead. Anybody help us here?

When I did a tour with Actief back in March the snorkeling site was pretty close to shore.
