Mayriver Posted August 17, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2009 Anyone on the SilverCloud for this crossing?
meow! Posted August 17, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2009 Purely out of curiosity, will that route be very rough? The North Atlantic may not be as bad as the Drake Passage, but nonetheless?!
Mayriver Posted August 17, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted August 17, 2009 The North Atlantic is nothing compared to the seas below Patagonia, even in their summer. We should be fine.
seagirl2002 Posted August 17, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 17, 2009 Well at least half way. We will be joining the ship in Reykjavik, going to Montreal and then on to New York. We did the crossing twice already many years ago. Once very smooth, once quite rough. But really looking forward to it.....

lbkjj Posted August 29, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 29, 2009 We ( Julie and John Flaherty)will be on this trip because we found the itinerary exciting. Let's hope all these tropical storms running over Newfoundland end soon. I've experienced the North Atlantic in a hurricane's aftermath and it wasn't pleasant. This is our first Silversea cruise and we are anxious to compare it with our Seabourn experience.
seagirl2002 Posted August 29, 2009 #7 Share Posted August 29, 2009 See you onboard then. I am travelling with my mother and we love Silversea. We've done this area before and have been lucky with the weather
asus Posted August 30, 2009 #8 Share Posted August 30, 2009 We are also on the London to Montreal cruise and are keeping an eye the weather patterns. We experienced extremely rough weather on the Silver Cloud during a voyage from Buenos Aires to Valparaiso and thought that the ship handled the conditions quite well. Next trip in February will be Capetown to Las Palmas on the Silver Wind and from memory that part of the world can experience very rough seas.Well I guess that if we were to worry about weather conditions then the pleasures of cruising would be lost. See you on board Ron and Janet.
Mayriver Posted August 30, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Good to hear from all of you. My wife Dede and I are looking forward to seeing all of you on the ship. We can meet at the Bar on the first night and check weather patterns.....
