Yeah, try another island. The venders will be on you worse than flies on a summer road-kill! That's Grenada for you.

Yup. Magazine Beach would be a good alternative with some snorkeling, but tends to be really quite rough around this time of year.

 

I wouldn't recommend it if your children are really young.

Magazine beach, I was there earlier this month. My 4 and 6 year old swam unattended there. Snorkling great on the southern end near the rocks.

Well that's good. I know my parents used to let us and my friends swim there with no problem when we were kids, but even Grand Anse - which tends to be calmer - has fairly big waves around Christmas.

 

The last time I was down there, the water was looking pretty rough and I'm not sure how comfortable people would be with letting small kids swim there on their own.

How rough are the waters there usually in late November?

Not terrible, but not overly calm either.

On a related note to earlier discussions, the last few times I've gone to the beach, the water has been quite nice. Sunday was particularly good; actually inspiring me to go for a long swim.
