Port locations vs. airport locations

First-time cruiser here, researching a potential vacation in April. :)

 

I'm wondering, how far are the cruise ship ports from airports? What are the best options for getting from the airport to the port? (We're coming from Fredericton, NB, Canada, so we probably won't book airfare with the cruise, because we can get good prices on our own, so we'll have to arrange our own transportation)

 

Specifically, the ports I'm interested in are:

 

Miami

Tampa

Orlando

New Orleans

 

We're thinking of cruising with either Carnival or Royal Caribbean.

Miami airport to Port of Miami is a 10-15 minute ride. Cab fare is fixed at $21 per cab (not per person) ;)

i would guess orlando to the cape is at least an hour --no idea as to cost--the cruise lines have busses that will take you but they have to be booked in advance ----taxis and limos are always available

Tampa International Airport is close by, about $10.00 cab fare.

Would agree w/Lougee. Orlando is not very convenient for air travelers, unless you want to spend time with the Mouse.....
