Hi,

We will be in Egypt on Nov. 10,11,2009 and will be docked in Alexandria from 7:00a.m.-10:00 pm. and in Port Said from 9:00a.m.-9:00pm. Can't decide if we should do an overnight or 2 day trips to Cairo. Don't want a tour of Alexandria. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you in advance.

Ellen:)

Well, its not a short ride to Cairo from Alexandria.

Cairo is one of the greatest destinations in the world. In my opinion, if it presents no logistical problems for your ship and you can re-board the next day, then stay overnight in Cairo.

Hospitality and food is terrific.

Smooth sailing to you...

Well, allow me to help set your mind at ease.

If you stay overnight, simply book into a five star hotel. The food there may well be some of the best you have ever had. My only advice would simply be to avoid tap water, so stick to bottled, hot beverages and fizzy soda etc. With that simple rule in mind, you should really enjoy yourself.

If you intend to stay overnight, send an email to the hotel to see if they can arrange a booking to the sound and light show in the evening at the pyramids. Typically the tour company will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel.

Again, people fly to Egypt regularly for vacation and can't wait to get back. We are in that situation. Loved the food.:)

Hope this helps.

If you have more specific questions I will be happy to try to answer them.

Smooth sailing always...
