Az transportation from Civet Port to FCO

How do the transfers work from Civet... to the airport?

Hourly, every 1/2 hour?

Are people getting off with their luggage efficiently, or is there a 20 minute stop at each airline??

Was going to use Romashuttle (used them once before and they were quite efficient) but their prices seemed to have gone up.

Any help??

We were on the Quest in July and there was NO shuttle to the port entrance as they claimed it was close enough to walk, which it was, but if you have a lot of luggage as some people did, just be sure that it rolls nicely and you can handle it easily.

We were all walking to the train station, which is a right turn on the main road from where we saw the shuttle dropping off passengers from other ships.

The ship did offer a pricey shuttle from the ship, but I don't recall where they dropped you.

The train was very pleasant and inexpensive - maybe 8E per person. That may have been a Sunday rate. To get to FCO, you can take the Leonardo DaVinci from Termini - the main terminal in Rome.

On our May cruise, the buses all seemed to leave around the same time for the airport. The prices seemed pretty comparable to other airport shuttle services I priced out for two people, so we ended up booking the transfers through Azamara.

Just returned from the Best of Italy on Quest and the AZ shuttles from the ship to the airport are staggered according to your flight time. Our flight was at 2:30PM so the original notice from the ship was for disembarking our group at 8:20AM give or take 15 minutes. They announced our group at 8:05 at which time we went ashore to the terminal building and got or luggage which is arranged in sections according to your colored baggage tags given the day before. With only half the bus filled we left about 20 minutes later. You then fill out a form with you flight/terminal/destination information for the rep on the bus and they drop you off accordingly. It was all very efficient.

We were on the same trip as CaptainK

6 of us hired a taxi through Rome Taxis. They provided a 8 seater with more than enough space for all the luggage. The cost PER COUPLE was 60 Euros.....far cheaper than the Ship Transfer.

We had an 11.45 flight and left the Dock at 9.00. We were at the airport in 45 minutes.

Our AZ transfers were with the airfare.

With independent air and 6 or 8 people you can certainly get a lower rate with more flexibility on times.

It's a necessary evil with cruise air.

I also was on Quest last week and took the ships transfer..we had a 1:05 flight, I asked for the 9am shuttle and we were at the airport at 10am..very effortless no lines, no crowding..and a rep walked us up to LH window!!
