dino2067 Posted August 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2009 Others will have to speak to their experience with Oceania's wine tour package but when we were on a cruise that stopped in Dubrovnik a couple of years ago we went on a private wine tour that we very much enjoyed: Pelješac Peninsula Wine Tour Links: http://croatian-wines.net/wine-tour.html Click on the gallery pictures in the link below: http://www.tours-in-croatia.com/inde...showoffer&id=1 If you are a Zinfandel fan, you will love the Plavac Mali wines of the region. plimsol Posted August 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Hi all, Has anybody taken this tour? If so, I'd like to hear how you liked it. Debating on doing this or something on our own. Thanks! We did this Oceania ship sponsored tour last October. Of course, the weather that day was perfect. We had a brief guided walking tour of Dubrovnik, followed by some free time to wander around on your own or sit at an outside café. We all met at the appointed time and place for our bus trip to the first winery. Lunch and wine were served by very hospitable hosts. From there we went to another winery for more local food and wine, and were entertained by the winemaker and some others with singing. It was a very happy, fun trip and would not hesitate to do it again. This tour built great comraderie between those who took the excursion. Bruin Steve Posted August 27, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2009 We did it while on the Nautica in 2006...loved it...one of our favorite excursions... Also had a nice city tour...followed by free time during which we walked the walls half way around and visited the Synagogue...then off to the farm/winery where an incredibly fun time was had by all--great lunch and entertainment... If we go back, we're doing it again...
chez Posted August 27, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2009 We also took this tour and it was a highlight. It was a lot of fun and we got to eat "local" food and drink interesting wines.
