Taxi Tour of St.John

Has anyone ever rented a taxi on St. John for a 2-3 hour tour of the island? We are taking a cruise in February, but see no excursion listed by RCL for St. John. Our thoughts were to take the ferry from either Red Hook or Charlotte Amalie and then renting a taxi for a tour of St. John, then back to St. Thomas for shopping. Is this doable?

Very easy to do. Regular ferry service to St. John from St. Thomas... check schedule at: http://www.*****/stjohn/getting_there/

 

Taxis are readily available right at the Cruz Bay dock area in St. John and you will undoubtably be approached as soon as you step off the dock by a driver asking if you want to go on a tour, to Trunk Bay... thats quite the norm. So just pick a driver, agree on the price and what you want, the time you want/need to be back for return your ferry and your off!!

 

You might try and take the Charlotte Amalie ferry back to St. Thomas, that way you are right in town to do your shopping.
