w8ing2cruz Posted August 28, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 28, 2009 This will be the first time we have stayed one day AFTER our cruise. We always fly in a day before and will again this cruise and stay at the Port. I'd like to take our time getting off the ship and making our way backto Orlando. Would like to find a nice hotel for one night with a nice pool and maybe some nightlife. I figure we will probably be 'beached' out after our cruise and would like to get closer to the airport. Any ideas?
ashtyn Posted August 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2009 Are you going to have a rental car? That would give a better way to plan. You could stay close to Universal where there are thousands of hotel rooms and have the night life at Universals City Walk. Look for a hotel on International Drive but stay away from Orange Blossom Trail (red light area) If you are looking for a hotel near the airport then there really aren't any "nightlife" activities there. w8ing2cruz Posted August 28, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted August 28, 2009 Yes, we will pick up a rental in Port Canaveral after the cruise. Are there any nice hotels with good pools within walking distance of Downtown Disney? I remember going to a dueling piano thing down there and it was a lot of fun but can't remember the hotel. ashtyn Posted August 28, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 28, 2009 That area would be Lake Buena Vista. I would think they are all the same. They are all about the same age, same amenities. Try priceline or hotels dot com and see what you can find. There are quite a few hotels in the area and I don't know which one does the dueling pianos. I believe they perform at JellyRolls at one of the hotels on Disney property but can't remember the name. Its near the Boardwalk. There is a bar downtown and at Universals City Walk that does the piano thing though. Maybe google will tell? I will ask at work tonight and see if anybody knows.
