Need thoughts quick! Radiance cabin selection

Recommended Posts

We currently have E1 cabin #8102 and GS cabin #1060. Both very nice cabins!

I have the chance, for almost an even trade, to move both cabins into a RFS on Deck Nine.

Pluses for staying where we are:

DH and I have a cabin, while adult son and two teen nephews have another

Good balconies

Good mid ship location

Pluses for moving

Husband and son would enjoy the concierge bar

Everyone gets full suite perks

We love aft facing cabins

Please send along your thoughts!!!

HHMMMMM..........that's a pretty even trade.

Some specifics, on both sides of the argument.

More privacy with two cabins.

It's nice all being together.

Concierge services are nice.

How much booze can you all drink in a week?;)

Mid-ship is a nice location.

RFS has a KILLER balcony.

GS's bathroom is TWICE the size (or maybe THREE times the size) of the larger bathroom of the RFS.

GS cabin is larger than the master bedroom of the RFS.

RFS has a large living room.

E cabin is about 185 square feet.

Second bedroom in RFS is an interior with no windows.

Aft balcony is FANTASTIC for the sights in Alaska. (I am assuming that this is for a cruise to Alaska. Silly me.)

Disgustingly huge amount of storage space in the RFS.

DVD player in RFS. DVD player in GS. No DVD player in E cabin.

RFS has lots of room for a party.

GS has enough room for a party.

GS gets concierge privileges anyway.

Decisions, decisions. :)

I'm in a win-win situation. The RFS is intriguing because I wouldn't typically need this type of cabin

The adult son is on his way home from Iraq in a few weeks and then we leave for the cruise. After the long "dry" spell, I'm afraid he probably plans to drink his weight in booze!

Is the concierge key the same as your room card?

Decisions....decisions

No, it's a second card of the same size. White, printed with the name of the ship and the date of your sailing. Someone actually recently posted a picture, but the search function isn't working properly right now.

Found a pic on webshots! (though why he posted his family names on their keycards, I don't know.) Obviously, the white one in the upper right quadrant is the CL key.

You are a great help!

At the risk of bringing on the wrath of the CC board.......

Since I don't drink, would I be able to give my BIL my concierge card so he could join DH and DS? BIL is in JS 1100 (I have great cabins!)

I was actually going to suggest this. (for your son, if you kept the GS and E   ;) :D)

I would go for the aft balcony over 1060. We had that cabin on Alaska. and it was huge but dark. The views from the stern are way better. Click on he link in my signature for pictures of 1060 and 1100.

And I'm not being wrathful, but the Concierge will have a list of who is supposed to be on the CL. Your BIL won't be on it. n

Not wrathful at all, Jean

I knew there had to be a catch. Too bad, I just thought the guys would have a great time during happy hour.

I typically book aft - so I totally get what you mean about the aft view.

There's just a part of me that thinks the GS is a prettier cabin than the RFS. Your pics are great!
