Sailkeywest Posted August 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Hi :) Hubby and I are currently booked for C753 for the Golden to Alaska and a visit to Glacier Bay is included in our itinerary. Our cabin is currently located Starboard aft, but I have read that upon entering Glacier Bay that most of the views are located on the port side. I took c753 to hopefully have more land views, because of the direction we will be heading out of Seattle. I guess my question is, would it be worth it to hurry up and switch to the port aft side of the ship to get better viewing of Glacier Bay, or will we still have great views from the Starboard side? Thank you for any input, as always :)
Sailkeywest Posted August 30, 2009 Author #2 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Eek, I think that I asked this question before on these boards (I know I did, just searched for the thread). Oops, anyway, feel free to add input, thank you :)
Colo Cruiser Posted August 30, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2009 From your aft corner cabin you will be able to see the majority as you pass. Upon arrival in the Captain will turn the ship around so everyone has a great opportunity to see. :)
TucsonRick Posted August 30, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Upon arrival in the Captain will turn the ship around so everyone has a great opportunity to see. :) This is not always the case. When we were at Hubbard Glacier, the ship did not turn to starboard. The port side faced the glacier the whole time we were there. I would switch to a port side cabin. Cruisers from WA Posted August 30, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Hubbard Glacier is not in Glacier Bay.... When viewing Hubbard (on Celebrity) we were port and they stayed starboard... When on Princess in Glacier Bay we were viewing aft and the ship slowing moved around so everyone could see everything I think it would depend on the Captain, the icebergs....and other conditions KEEP you cabin!
