BEWARE: Serenade cabin # 9078

It's also one of our favorite cabins as well. We never heard much in the way of noise, very faint and not very late. If you're totally sensitive to noise and go to bed at 9 pm you might want ear plugs. Love the balcony and proximity to the elevators.

Eeek! A little late to the game here, but is outside noise an issue for 9078 after the 2016 refurbishment of Jewel of the Seas? We just booked it for a 2018 cruise. Thank you.

We've stayed in hump cabins on Radiance class and always heard noise from the Centrum. It hasn't kept us awake or bothered us personally, but you can DEFINITELY hear the music pounding at night sometimes. If someone has noise issues with sleeping it might be a problem.

For what it's worth, I do note care for hump cabins. We've only stayed in one once, and that was enough. I can't say that we heard music from the public spaces as the OP is describing, but we heard people walking by, talking, even just flip-flops clopping by all night long. With the exception of a small group of teens who knocked on our door in the wee hours of the morning (they weren't being rude purposefully -- they just had the wrong cabin and apologized sincerely), no one was purposefully being mean ... it's just that mid-ship is a heavy traffic area.

Thing is, I am a very heavy sleeper!

We've always enjoyed aft cabins, and after that foray into humps, we've opted to stay at the back.

We were in GS 1554 on Radiance for the Hawaii to Vancouver. It was partly loud due to music/acrobats though that tended to drop off around 10:00pm and, well, let's just say we'd had enough "happy hour assistance" that at the end of a long day this wasn't a factor. Figure also 10pm Hawaii time is definitely past the home bedtime so staying up mach later kinda hurt. The surprise killer there was that card room off the Centrum on Deck 10. Sheesh, you'd think extra points were awarded to the player slamming their domino or rummikub piece to the table the hardest... at ANY hour. Super cabin, super location, but never again so long as there's that card room.

Lesson learned, the following year we booked OS 1560 on Serenade, maybe 15 feet off the Centrum and aft instead of forward oriented. No card room on Deck 10 here, but on Serenade they were SERIOUS about keeping those aft fire doors closed sealing off the Centrum (we really didn't pay attention to the forward doors) and it made all the difference in the world. We'd have never known they were doing shows.
