  1. We have never cruised before but it has taken me years to finally talk my husband into a cruise. His main reason is that he thinks he'll be bored. I'm absolutely certain he won't be, but just in case I've booked us an itinerary that is heavier on stops than sea days. Hopefully he'll come around because I would like cruising holidays to continue in our future.

On a side note, how do you send private message. Just want to send you one with a message that I can't post here.[/quote]

Thanks :) Just sent an email. It was just a website that wouldn't show here.

  2. I recently had lunch with an old workmate who had been on a Mediterrean cruise. She said "never again - it was so boring".

BORING - on a cruise? You have to be kidding me! Still I guess, cruising isn't for everyone.

  3. Ok, I'll admit that I "may" be a bit over sensitive on this issue. I initiated our cruise, I booked it, I paid using the credit card with my name on it and I'm doing all the preparation, research and and and EVERYTHING!!! yet DH is listed as the primary traveller. In this case I booked through a TA so she probably entered our names with his first, but even in my email to her I put my name first! The only reasoning I could think of is that she did it in order of birthdate.

Phew - got that off my chest. I'll just drink extra cocktails once onboard. Happy for him to pay that bill at the end. :p

  4. We're going to have the same issue. My son will turn 6 a few weeks after the cruise and he's the climber out of my two boys. He's already annoyed enough that his brother's birthday will be while we're on the cruise (not intentional). I may have to placate him with extra game arcade credit!

  5. Hi,

When searching, posts I find seem to be very specific points or C&A questions.

What I'd like to know, or be directed to, is how many points to reach each level if you base it on being in a regular stateroom. I'll be in a balcony stateroom, so presumably I get 1 point/day. I understand you get more if in a suite too. I can't sign up on the RCI website for a C&A membership because I haven't completed my first cruise yet and can't find an information page that spells it out for me.

    Thanks :)

  6. I think it's great you were trying to lose a bit of weight but in hindsight maybe next time start earlier so you don't have to stress so much and it can be done in a safer way. I'm sure many other people have been in the same boat lol.

I think you'd be able to lose 2kg with what you're doing and I don't think you need a psychiatrist!

Let us know how you went!

Whoa - I have to respectfully disagree. You need to read the other 6 threads started from the OP on this issue alone. It's clear she needs to speak to someone about this and in my opinion to suggest otherwise is really irresponsible.

  7. I agree your point though about people with super. My wife does cruise bookings for seniors and there's lots of them out there blowing the kids inheritances on cruises. I hope to be doing the same one day.

My mother and aunt are in the process of doing this, taking cruises together, and we all encourage them. We often have a laugh about our "inheritance". Good on them, they worked for it. :)

  8. 21 days until my first ever cruise and I have never spent this much time on one website in my life. My kids tell me I know too much about cruising already. Not sure what I am going to do once my cruise is over. Looking forward to posting a review (hopefully it will be a good one) and helping others with info. Love this site.

I'm the same and still have 67 days to go. I've started keeping a list of things to remember that seem important to know. I think it'll be a big folder by the time it's our date of departure!

    Enjoy your cruise.
