@Sunshine3601 sorry about the skin cancer on your scalp. Hope you are healing. @jagsfan Congratulations to your granddaughters on their engagements. Their fiancée’s chose great locations for the proposals. Have an enjoyable cruise on the Wonder. @sea2shiningsea your day out on the boat looked great. Lovely photos. @bobmacliberty nice photos of the Golden Gate bridge. Liked all the different angles. DD would not agree that you can’t take a bad photo - the day they were there it was completely shrouded in fog…

We also missed the paper ones especially on boarding day and for keeping as a souvenir. Midway through our most recent cruise, daughter realised the app will send you a reminder if there is an upcoming event you were interested in attending. There were other reasons we liked the app too. It’s good we can now have both paper Fun times & the app on Carnival

El Cheapo Cruises Thread

Wish I was retired. Would have spent the past 2 months cruising. So many bargains… -
Been an interesting day on the Northern Beaches in Sydney today. A very unexpected fly over after midday by a formation of Korean fighter jets. The Media reported later they are an aerobatic team doing a training exercise. They are due to perform at an Airshow in Victoria. Then tonight, there was a large water spout off one of the beaches - Curl Curl.

Because many of you are grandparents, I am going to mention The Wiggles. Not sure if they are still popular with little ones in the US but we saw the original foursome multiple times in concert. The Blue Wiggle Anthony is the only one still in the lineup. My SIL’s claim to fame is she saw two of The Wiggles perform in their band before they became part of The Wiggles. Because someone mentioned them - Midnight Oil - big yes. My brother and DH went to many of their concerts.

Been a long time since I watched a 3D movie at the theatre. Tonight watched Avatar - the way of the water at the cinema. It just happened that the time slot that suited us was 3D. Anyone else seen this sequel? We enjoyed it. The underwater visuals were stunning and the action was good. If you liked the first movie, you would like this one.

I’ve spent the past two months following the daily updates of an 61 yo engineer & kayaker from Sydney who was attempting to sea kayak solo and unassisted from Tasmania to New Zealand. This morning he safely arrived at Riverton at the bottom of the South Island of New Zealand after paddling 1600km. Amazing physical & mental achievement. I am also in awe of him jumping into the deep ocean to clean the bottom of the kayak before entering New Zealand waters (as required by the authorities) as he had seen sharks in the water only a day or two previously. This hull cleaning was also recently required of cruise vessels going to NZ. For the engineers, you might be interested in the design of the sea kayak that he built himself for this endeavour.
